- Patrick O'Brien and Mary Roach were married at Notre-Dame de Quebec Church on November 15, 1831 by Father Patrick McMahon, the first chaplain of Saint Patrick's Church. (Construction for the first Saint Patrick's Church began in October 1831 on McMahon Street - the church was consecrated in 1833).
Marriage records show that Patrick's parents were Patrick O'Brien and Anastasia Corrigan. Mary Roach's parents were John Roach and Margaret Cavanagh. John Roach, Nicolas Roach and Anastasia Benny all signed as witnesses at the wedding.

Le quinze Novembre mil huit cent trente un, vu la dispense de deuw Bans de mariage accordee par Monseigneur Joseph Signay (?) la adjuteur (?) de l'Eveque de Quebec en date du douze du de l'instant et la publication du troisieme fait au prone de Notre Messe Paroissiale entre Patrick O'Brien, Culler de Sainte-Foye, fils majeur de Patrick O'Brien et d'Anastasia Corrigan du Comte de Wexford en Irlande d'une part et Mary Roach de cette ville, fille majeure de John Roach et de defunte Margaret Cavanah du meme Comte en Irlande d'autre part, ne l'etant decouvert aucun Empechement, nous Pretre de Quebec soussigne avons recu Benediction Nuptiale en presence de John Corrigan cousin et de Nicholas Roach ami de l'Epoux; d'Anastasia Barney (?) amie de l'Epouse, lesquels et l"Epoux ont signe avec nous, l"epouse ayant declare nul (?) avoir ecrire.

- Martin was a Timber Culler for the city of Quebec (an inspector).
In the 1881 Census, Martin is in St-Colomb-de-Sillery. His age is noted as 45. His wife Elizabeth is 39. Their children (Patrick J. L., Maurice J. M. and "Jeoffry" James are 7, 4 and 1 respectively. Ellen Mary Malone, presumably Elizabeth's sister is 41 and lives with the family. NA Film number C-13212, District 80, Sub-district I, Division 3, Page number 12, Household 54).
In 1886 he resided at 388 Champlain.
